Joe Emery
I currently reside in West Bend with my wife, four children and our foster son who we are in the process of adopting after 4 1/2 years. We have been a foster family since 2015 and are blessed to still have close relationships with the children we fostered and their parents.
For the past 20 years, I have operated three franchises in the greater Milwaukee and surrounding areas; experiencing successes as well as several opportunities to learn life's lessons through the school of hard knocks.
While I have always had a faith in our Lord, Jesus, my passion for searching, studying and learning God's word was most enlightened while sitting in the hospital for weeks at a time while caring for our daughter after heart surgeries.
This passion has grown over the years and has led to several opportunities to share God's word in church, retreats and other Bible study settings.
For the past 10 years, I have embarked on a journey to study the book of Revelation, the various interpretations, and how God's final words to the apostle John show us a most comforting promise of hope and glory in the midst of the chaos that surrounds us.
Lord willing, it is my goal to work in ministry full time, continue to write as well as publish several books surrounding the topic of Revelation, the Last Days and the 24th and 25th chapters of Matthew's Gospel. Long term, I hope to create online courses through each book in the New Testament and share God's word to all who have open ears.

I am a holistic financial planner, a man of faith, husband and father, love being in nature and strive to make the world a better place.
I work with my wife Gina, and our mission is to help people make good financial decisions so they can live a less stressful and more fulfilling life. For over a decade, I’ve been serving clients all around the country and take a holistic approach to financial planning. The Fiduciary standard is at my core and the best interest of the client will always be the foundation of my planning.
I find it incredibly important to support my church, various charities, and local Wisconsin businesses to help improve the place my family and I live in and love. Faith in God plays a key role and serves as a moral foundation in my life. My wife and I share strong values in continued learning, constant growth, mentoring others, and playing our part in building a sustainable Earth for all generations to come.

Deanna Ratz
I am currently the Administrative Assistant for BASICS in Milwaukee, handling tasks such as communications, donor acknowledgment, website management and the variety of unpredictable things that can pop up day-to-day in that role. Outside of my work, my biggest passion is Spiritual Formation, helping people foster deep connections with God and others. I’ve led small groups, taught discipleship classes, and planned and led a retreat. I live on the south side of Milwaukee and love reading, blogging, baking and exploring the beautiful parks in Wisconsin.
