  • Discipleship/Prison Ministry

BASICS Prison Ministry serves state-wide correctional facilities by hosting chapel services and making pastoral visits to disciple inmates. This program also extends to at-risk junior high and high school students as well as adult men through various Bible studies.

  • Elder Care

Some of the most marginalized people in our society are our elders. As they begin the homestretch of the race they have run, they often find themselves in nursing homes – lonely, depressed, and scared. Our Elder Care Ministry tends to the spiritual needs of those in nursing homes and hospice care by providing bible studies, prayer, empathy, a listening ear and good old-fashioned friendship. Over the last 25 years, some 2000 elders have been ministered to and nearly 400 have committed their lives to following Jesus!

  • Front Row Seat

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” Psalm 133:1

And how devastating it is when we do not. We know that misunderstanding around race and culture create tension not only in our city, but in our churches as well. Authentic conversations grounded in the Word and Spirit of God bring understanding to the unique experience of race, from either side of the aisle.

BASICS Ministry of Front row seat is doing just that! Front Row Seat: Dialogs for Understanding Together creates a safe space to share experience the brings understanding, compassion and action to the lives of believers! Click here to find out more about Front Row Seat!

  • Healing from Trauma

This includes hospital visitations, responding to officers in crisis, crimes scenes, and officiating at weddings and funerals. This program also provides weekly Bible study for the officers and a bi-monthly chapel service for officers and their families.

  • Leader to Leader

Leaders can be some of the most isolated people in faith communities. This Ministry provides safe spaces for leaders, extending mentoring, encouragement and a listening ear, pointing one another back toward Jesus and living out faith in the community. Care of leaders to get their feet back under them to go back to serve.

  • Ministry to Veterans

Our Veterans ministry works with the R&R House which provides peer support to military veterans through a residential program and a 24-hour warmline. We are also proud to partner with Healing Warrior Hearts retreats for military vets to spiritually refresh and deal with the trauma they have experienced in combat.

  • Neighborhood Fellowship Church

Psalm 1:2 “but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law, he meditates day and night.”

Searching the Holy Scriptures, attending worship and being involved in the Christian community and movement, Keith and Karin Magee feel led to seek God’s will in the village of Waterford and beyond. By enriching personal relationships with Jesus Christ and their neighbors, the Magees are reaching out to local officials, schools, churches, businesses and the community as they set up a safe haven in a Waterford Heritage Site. The church was built in the 1800s to praise and worship God. They are reopening this safe space to cultivate community, inspire hope and share the love of God.
