Mending the Soul

Picture
The trauma of abuse is all too often buried, and unwarranted shame causes people to withdraw from within. Survivors don’t want anyone, including themselves, to see their pain, shame, and brokenness.

Abuse can be sexual, physical, neglect, spiritual, and verbal, and can cause us to be haunted by past identities in our lives.

Broken. Beaten down. Divorced. Addicted. Abused. Degraded. Isolated. Invisible. Not good enough. Uneducated. Unlovable. Unwanted. Used. Useless. Shamed. Rejected.

All of these identities are shame-based lies that have become imbedded in the original design God has for the lives of His people.

Mending the Soul provides biblically-rooted and psychologically proven abuse-healing curricula in a community-based setting.
Partner with Minister to Milwaukee Peggy Neal by providing support for Mending the Soul participants

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”
Matthew 25:35-36

Front Row Seat

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!”    Psalm 133:1
Picture

A December 2018 report published by the Brookings  Institute shows Greater Milwaukee as the single most segregated metropolitan area in the entire United States.  Nearly 80% of the residents live in neighborhoods comprised only of people who are the same race as them.  How do we bridge the gap toward racial unity, being able to work together on solutions to challenges in the church and community that trouble us all? Bringing together city and suburban, Black, White and Brown, to begin to understand one another’s experience, to learn to love and support one another in practical and meaningful ways.

SYIS - Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills Workshop

Picture

Few things are more glorifying to God than living together in community.

And few things are more destructive than not doing so.

One of the significant challenges we face on a day-to-day basis is working with others, often from different cultures and with different personalities. Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills Workshops are designed to enhance the knowledge, attitudes and skills of Christian workers in how we relate to family, co-workers, friends as well as those from other cultures.

SYIS is highly interactive. We will work, share, and practice skills together in pairs, small groups, and as a whole group. The best methods of adult education are utilized so that maximum learning takes place.
