Nancy DeSandre

 Nancy joined BASICS in 2004 to coordinate the work of ministries in the area of prison aftercare. She began working in the Milwaukee County Jail teaching Bible studies for the women in 1996 and felt the Lord leading her to prison aftercare. She began helping Elmbrook Church with developing a mentoring ministry for ex-offenders and before joining with BASICS, worked on the staff at Elmbrook Church as prison aftercare coordinator. Nancy is recognized and supported as a prison missionary by her home church, Elmbrook Church.
Nancy's focus areas and activities are:
Prison Aftercare Network - Uniting ministry efforts in the city for ex-offenders being released from prisons and development of a continuum of care resource referral network for prison aftercare.
Ministry Delivery Team -Developing a network through Prison Fellowship with other cities doing the same type of ministry and networking.
Angel Tree -Helping Prison Fellowship in church recruitment for Project Angel Tree that provides gifts and the gospel message to children of incarcerated parents.
A.F.T.E.R.- A Bible study that prepares men and women, prior to their release from prison, to transition back into the community and accept responsibility for their actions.
Transitional Living - assisting in developing a transitional living facility and emergency shelter for men coming out of prison.
